I’ll bet you’ll never guess what this is. You give up? What if I told you this was DNA. That’s right, DNA. These are products developed by a company called SeekDNA. SeekDNA sells various products to help people identify criminal activity, such as sexual assault, bank robbery, and host of other things through the physical release of traces of a specific plant DNA onto perpetrators whether through ventilation, aerosol spray, finger prints and so much more. When potential criminals are shown to have significant traces of the product on their body it informs police they have been in the vicinity of the crime. No this is not an episode of CSI: Miami but this is an example of some of the cool projects and investments happening locally at UNCW’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. 3M will be engaging in a workshops this coming Spring to give guys hands on experience on the basics of developing ideas into profit. Stay tuned.
