Cape Fear Community College has been in continuous operation since it was first established in 1959 and currently has students enrolled in 35 degree programs (Approved Programs of Study for CFCC). As a member of the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) the College reports its semester enrollment data to NCCCS. In 2004-2005, the college enrolled 9,423 curriculum students, with 6,851 of these working toward a degree and 1,293 working toward a diploma or certificate.
