Summary

Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) demonstrates compliance with this comprehensive standard. The administrative and academic officers of the college are experienced, competent, and capable in their leadership of the institution as is evidenced in their permanent file which is maintained by the College’s Personnel Office. These officers include the president, executive vice president, vice presidents, deans, directors, and other senior administrators. Job descriptions for each of these positions include experience and education requirements, which are used to identify capable and competent candidates to fill these positions. Additionally, all employees, including administrative and academic officers are evaluated annually on their job performance to ensure they are carrying out their assigned duties as leaders for the College. The CFCC Board of Trustees selects the college president, and in accordance with the North Carolina General Statues, the State Board gives final approval for that selection.

Narrative

Cape Fear Community College has qualified administrative and academic officers with the experience, competence, and capacity to lead the institution. The Board of Trustees has the power to elect the President (Powers and Duties of Trustees pg 5) and those employees who report directly to that position (CFCC Faculty and Staff Handbook). The organizational structure of CFCC is the responsibility of the President.

The CFCC Board of Trustees selects the President, and the State Board, in accordance with the North Carolina General Statutes, gives the final approval for that selection. Administrative and academic officers at CFCC include the President, Executive Vice President, Vice Presidents, Dean, Directors, and other senior administrators with college-wide administrative responsibilities. To ensure that Senior Administrators are competently performing their jobs they are evaluated annually (Sample Evaluations) along with all employees of the College as explained in the CFCC Staff and Faculty Handbook under section 5.3.8 Employee Evaluations (CFCC Faculty and Staff Handbook)

The job descriptions for each of the positions include the requirements for education and experience, which are used to identify capable and competent candidates to fill these positions.
