Comprehensive Standards 3.4.10
The institution defines and publishes general education requirements for its undergraduate programs and major program requirements for all its programs. These requirements conform to commonly accepted standards and practices for degree programs. Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) demonstrates compliance with this comprehensive standard. CFCC defines and publishes general education and major program requirements for all its programs in the CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook. When determining these requirements, CFCC uses the Curriculum Standards specified by the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS). CFCC has provided program requirements published in the CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook as well as the NCCCS Curriculum Standards for support.
Cape Fear Community College defines and publishes general education and major program requirements for all of its programs in the CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook (Program Listing pg 55). The rationale for these local requirements is based upon the North Carolina Community College System Curriculum Standards. CFCC programs of study and curriculum standards are attached (Curriculum Standards). Which specify standard, mandatory course content, minimum and maximum credit hour requirements and general education core requirements for each program of study. There is no differentiation among on-campus, off-campus and distance learning courses. Refer to Core Requirement 2.7.3 (Core Requirement 2.7.3) for additional information regarding general education core requirements.
