Narrative
A variety of resources are utilized to provide students and the general public with the current academic calendar, grading policies, and tuition and fee refund policies. The CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook and the Schedule of Classes are the primary sources of this information (CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook) (Schedule of Classes). All information contained in these documents is reviewed for accuracy and is updated with each new publication.
Included in the CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook is the calendar for each academic year (Calendar pg 3), standards for satisfactory progress, the grading system (Grading pg 15), grade appeal procedures, and other academic information. Also included in the handbook is the tuition and fee refund policy (Expenses pg 29), which is established in accordance with North Carolina Community College State Board and North Carolina General Statute Chapter 115D-39 (Student Tuition and Fees).
The printed version of the Schedule of Classes contains the corresponding academic calendar (Academic Calendar), the tuition and fee refund policy (Tuition, Fees & Refunds pg 5) and the grading policy as it pertains to auditing and withdrawing from classes (Auditing Courses pg 6, Withdrawal pg 6).
Printed versions of the CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook and the Schedule of Classes are always available in the Student Development Office and are provided free of charge to anyone wishing to obtain a copy. Also, these publications are distributed at information tables set up on campus during registration periods and new student orientation sessions. The printed version of the fall and spring semester Schedule of Classes is mailed to all residents of New Hanover and Pender Counties. The summer Schedule of Classes is made available to students and the public upon request and is available in Student Development.
In addition to the printed version of the CFCC Catalog and Student Handbook CFCC makes this document available in an electronic format via the CFCC website (CFCC Website). The College website is reviewed for accuracy and accessibility on an ongoing basis by the Registrar Office staff.
Furthermore, CFCC’s refund policy information is provided with each student’s registration and billing information statement (Statement Message) and the CFCC grading policy is contained in all course syllabi (Course Syllabus) (Course Syllabus 2) which are provided to students on the first day of class.
