First Annual CFCC Trade Show and Career Fair
Thursday, March 3rd, 2011CFCC’s Career Services department, in conjunction with the Technical and Vocational degree programs, will host the first annual CFCC Trade Show and Career Fair on March 30th from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the BB&T Auditorium of the McKeithan Center. Local employers will be on hand to speak with students from all Vocational/Technical degree programs. Throughout the day, several of the participating vendors will also provide demonstrations of technology used at their particular organizations. This fair is specific to the Vocational/Technical division of the college. Employers that have been invited represent the workforce aspect of these programs. Please try to make it to this fair – loads of opportunity!

New CIT Faculty Member
Thursday, May 6th, 2010The CIT discipline will be welcoming a new faculty member in the fall of 2010. Our beloved Bill Smith retired in December 2010 and left a vacant faculty position. The search committee for the position has been working hard during the year to find the perfect new faculty member that will work best for our program. We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Shelia Williams to our department. Mrs. Williams will be teaching Cisco networking, security concepts, and introduction to computers courses. Congratulations Mrs. Williams and Welcome Aboard!
CIT Program Advisory Committee Meeting
Thursday, May 6th, 2010The CIT Advisory Committee will be holding its annual meeting on Thursday, June 3, 2010. Agenda items include deletion and addition of courses to the curriculum, documentation of critical thinking in core CIT courses, and the conversion of traditional face-to-face courses to hybrid courses that meet both face-to-face as well as online.
CIT Degree Program 5-Year Review
Thursday, May 6th, 2010The Computer Information Technology degree program successfully completed its five-year program review on Friday, April 23, 2010. The program has grown by leaps and bounds and administrators, as well as faculty are continuing work to improve the program through rigorous curriculum enhancements and community involvement.
CIT Capstone Course Final Presentations
Thursday, May 6th, 2010The spring session of CTS 289: Systems Support Project at CFCC held their final student presentations on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Students in the course have worked diligently to incorporate knowledge and skills that they have acquired throughout their years of study under the CIT discipline into a capstone IT project. Ten students will be completing the course this spring, many of which are graduating in May, 2010. Congratulations students!
