CFCC and Surf City officials held an informational session Saturday, March 16 at the Surf City Visitors Center  to inform the public about CFCC’s upcoming Alston W. Burke Campus in Surf City.

CFCC president Dr. Ted D. Spring gave a presentation and unveiled the construction plans for the project.  Dr. Spring and Mayor Zander Guy were available for questions and input from the town’s residents.

“Cape Fear Community College is growing rapidly and it’s exciting to take this new step.  We look forward to hearing directly from the residents about their hopes for the Alston W. Burke Campus and the programs to be offered there.  We’re here for the community, and want to make sure we’re responsive to the needs of the Surf City area,” said Spring.

The new campus will be located on a 24-acre site off Hwy 10 and is scheduled to break ground in the late fall of 2013.
