The Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) Foundation received a $5,000 grant from Bank of America to increase the employability of local students. Funding from the grant will be used to assist students in who are enrolled in CFCC’s Business Technology program take specialized certification exams.

“This grant from Bank of America will help our students afford to take vitally important industry certification exams while at CFCC, said Melissa Watson, Chair of CFCC’s Business Technologies Department. “These certifications not only demonstrate the students’ proficiency and depth of knowledge and skill in a particular area, but they also serve as a marketing tool for our students as they graduate and begin their search for employment.  Local employers are looking for employees with specialized skills, and these certifications in our graduates’ portfolios help them get jobs.”
