Our Community

Cape Fear is truly a “community” college. We partner with regional businesses and industry to provide valuable job training. We prepare thousands of students each year for transfer to four-year universities. We create exciting experiential learning opportunities through our cooperative education (co-op) programs which allow students to earn college credit for supervised work experience. Our continuing education programs serve the larger community though numerous certification programs, personal enrichment classes and basic skills training. Our early college high school programs allow hundreds of area high school students to earn college credit and to prepare early for their careers.

Cape Fear Community College is one of the oldest and largest schools in the North Carolina community college system. Approximately 27,000 students take courses here each year. Studies show that for each dollar spent on educating CFCC students, more than $2.36 is returned to the local community. This means that gifts to the college actually grow in the marketplace. Additionally, the college boosts the economy of New Hanover and Pender counties by generating more than $435 million annually in business sales and $192 million in labor income.

Many of the things that make CFCC such a special place would not be possible without the support of caring people in our community like you. As the college grows, so does our need for your support.
