For one night only, students in Cape Fear Community College’s Hotel Restaurant Management program will be taking over the kitchen and dining room at Bluewater Restaurant at Wrightsville Beach.
The event will be held on April 13 at 7:00 p.m. and will raise funds toward the student club known as the CFCC Pineapple Guild and the North Carolina Restaurant Association Foundation scholarship fund for hospitality students in high Schools, community colleges and universities.
During the event, CFCC students will be doing everything from taking food orders, preparing the food, serving the plates, washing dishes and cleaning the tables.
According to Diane Withrow, CFCC lead instuctor of hotel and restaurant management, the meal will give students to show the public what they can do and apply their skills in a real-world setting.
For a fee of $35, guests will enjoy a three-course meal including:
- Two glasses of wine
- A choice of seafood chowder or spinach salad
- Choice of sirloin, chicken with mushroom sauce or salmon with sides
- One item from the dessert display
Live classical string music will be provided by CFCC students and faculty.
This is the second time students from CFCC’s hotel restaurant management program have held a special dinner at Bluewater. The first was in 2010.
