CFCC’s Drama Department Presents ‘Ancient History’

Cape Fear Community College will present Ancient History, a deftly constructed, touching and funny play about the “battle of the sexes.”

Wriiten by David Ives, performances will be held on April 29 at 8:00 p.m., April 30 at 8:00 p.m., and May 1 at 3:00 p.m. in E-180 in CFCC’s black box theater.  Tickets are $5 for the public and $4 for students, faculty and staff.  Tickets are sold at the door 30 minutes before show time.  First come, first serve.

The story revolves around Ruth and Jack, who believe themselves perfectly suited to each other.  But when Ruth suddenly mentions marriage, a subtle but ominous change is felt in their relationship.  As it happens, Ruth is Jewish, Jack is a lapsed Catholic who scorns religion; she is career oriented and bent on success, he is a  poorly paid teacher who is happy to settle for what he has; she fears her stern parents would never accept her marrying a non-Jewish man; he has already been through one failed marriage and is wary of repeating his mistake.

Seating is limited. Call Jack Landry at 362-7783 for more details.
