CFCC to Hold ‘Fun Day’ to Help Family of Young Child

Late last year, five-year old Ben Freeland was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer and has been undergoing treatment in Chapel Hill since December. Ben’s father, Patrick Freeland, teaches at Cape Fear Community College and when news began to spread about Ben, co-workers decided to hold a special event to help raise money to help cover the cost of Ben’s treatment.

As a result, CFCC is hosting the Freeland Family Fun Day at CFCC on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CFCC’s North Campus in Castle Hayne.

Events include a bounce house for kids, a picnic lunch, a silent auction and other activities suitable for all ages. All proceeds will benefit the Freeland family.
