CFCC offers new class in sustainable agriculture

If you have ever wanted to learn how to grow your own food and actually make a profit, you can get some tips from a new class at Cape Fear Community College.

The class is called Sustainable Agriculture and it’s offered by the Small Business Center. The class meets once a week and runs for eight weeks. Course topics include an introduction to agricultural enterprise, soil and site analysis, seeds, plants and water, whole farm design, weed, insect and disease management, and harvesting and distribution.

The class starts on August 23 from 6 – 9 p.m. and costs $79. Pre-registration is required. Call 362-7216 for more details.
