Cape Fear Community College will hold it’s annual Harvest Health, Wellness and Safety Fair on Wed., Oct. 19 at the Schwartz Center in downtown Wilmington. The event will include over 60 exhibits and vendors to promote healthy living.
Flu shots will be provided by the New Hanover County Health Department for free for college students and people with health insurance. Those wanting a flu shot must bring their insurance card or a student ID. Supplies are limited and will be given on a first come, first served basis.
Other services include free blood pressure checks by CFCC’s nursing students and free manicures from CFCC cosmetology students.
Representatives from various health organizations, agencies and businesses will be on site to talk with visitors about a wide variety of topics, including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, physical fitness, yoga, acupuncture and much more.
The hours are 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Admission is free.
