CFCC Cheerleaders Win National Competition in Myrtle Beach

The Cape Fear Community College cheerleaders recently earned a national title when they competed on March 16, 2012 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

CFCC’s squad participated at Cheer Ltd., Canam in the Small Collegiate Division and won National Champions.

“ I am very proud. For most of my girls it was their first time competing and I had a few who never cheered before. They represented Cape Fear well, not just by winning but portraying exceptional behavior and sportsmanship,” coach Tameka Delmar said.

Every year in March, Cheer Ltd. hosts the prestigious Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Coaches consistently rank CANAM as one of the top competitions in the nation, and its popularity continues to grow each year. During the fall and winter season, Cheer Ltd holds Regional Competitions throughout the country, which allow competitors to qualify for CANAM. Teams can compete in more than 50 divisions in Cheer Ltd regional competitions and Cheer Ltd Nationals. Cheer Ltd was founded in 1988 and offer programs are designed to help coaches and cheerleaders improve their personal skills, as well as to enhance the sport itself.
