CFCC Trade Show to Give Students An Inside Look into Local Companies

Students at Cape Fear Community College will have a chance to get a closer look at their future careers at the 2012 CFCC Trade Show. Over three dozen employers are expected to participate in the show, which will be held on Wed., March 28 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the McKeithan Center at CFCC’s North Campus.
According to Matthew Thomas, CFCC Career Services Coordinator, this event will allow students to see exactly how the skills they’ve learned in class apply directly to the work of local companies. The trade show will also give students an opportunity to network with a variety of potential employers in law enforcement, construction, manufacturing, engineering, automotive repair and much more.
Throughout the day, companies will present a variety of live demonstrations of the services and equipment they use along with the products they produce.
Demonstrations include:
Canine Unit from Wilmington Police Department
SABLE Helicopter flyover at 1:00 p.m.
Truck driver training
Welding and cutting demonstrations
Automotive painting simulation
various industrial equipment displays
EMS and law enforcement vehicles
