If “tweets”, “likes”, and “friend requests” aren’t part of your daily vocabulary yet, you might need to sign up for a new class at Cape Fear Community College which starts in June.
CFCC will offer a new course in social media which covers the basics of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other top social media sites. The purpose of the class is to help businesses and individuals become more savvy in their use of the latest communication technology.
“Businesses are using social media in some innovative ways to promote their services and engage their customers on a personal level. Social media can be a powerful business tool when used properly,” said Kris Sipe, who runs the course at CFCC.
The course will be held from June 5 – 28 and meets Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 – 9 p.m. The cost is $73 or $8 for seniors 65 years old or older. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops or mobile devices. Pre-registration is required. Call Kris Sipe at 362-7617 or email email@example.com for more details.
