CFCC class to help retirees navigate financial issues

What are the best interest rates available for investments? How can retirees reduce probate costs and estate taxation? How can retirees best prepare for long term care?

These and many other questions will be answered in a brand new Cape Fear Community College course offered especially for retirees: FINANCIAL DECISION MAKING FOR RETIREES. This Continuing Education course will cover all areas of finances for retirees: Investments, Estate Planning, Long Term Care Planning and Income Tax Reduction.

The instructor, Blanchard Granville, is a Certified Financial Planner® with over thirty years of experience in the financial industry. He is the longest practicing CFP® in the Pinehurst, NC area and one of the longest in North Carolina. He has taught this course over sixty times all over North Carolina.

“With interest rates near all-time lows, the housing market still in the doldrums and the presidential election coming up, retirees need to be better educated to cover a multitude of risks with their finances,” Granville said.

The class will run for five weeks, starting on September 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays. It will be held at the Business, Industry and Government Center at 805 N. 3rd Street in Wilmington.

To pre-register, please call Teresa Criser at 910-362-7319. The cost for this class is $50.
