Cape Fear Participates in the Campus Conservation Nationals

Help Save Energy at CFCC!

From Monday, Feb. 18 – Friday, March 8, 2013, Cape Fear Community College will participate in the 2013 Campus Conservation Nationals – a national effort to conserve energy and water at college campuses across the country.

The CFCC Green Building Club will be monitoring the energy and water consumption at the CFCC Learning Resource Center at the downtown Wilmington Campus and at the McKeithan Center at the North Campus. The results of the efforts will be announced by the Green Building Club next month.

Simple Conservation Steps to Consider:

  • Is the faucet flowing at full speed? When you’re washing your hands, only use what you need!
  • Try turning on just half the lights in your classroom instead of all of them.  You may even like it better!
  • Cut out the lights when you leave! If no one is in a room, flip the switch!
  • Go to sleep! Not you, your computer! Set your computer to hibernate when not in use and switch it off completely if not used for longer than an hour.
