Support the McGowan Scholarship for CFCC Culinary Students at the Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-Off this Saturday

Friends of Michael McGowan, the well-known chef from Michael’s Seafood in Carolina Beach, have established The Michael McGowan Endowed Scholarship at CFCC in his memory. McGowan, who died in October 2012 from complications of cystic fibrosis, was known as the local “Chowder King,” participating in the Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-Off numerous times and holding the title of three-time champion of the Knorr Great Chowder Cook-Off.
