For the record… transcripts

In the year 2012 the Registrar’s Office sent out over 12,000 curriculum transcripts for Cape Fear Community College students. In January 2012 CFCC started sending transcripts electronically using Scrip-Safe software to other Scrip-Safe receiving colleges. A total of 3,274 transcripts were sent electronically last year, which included 1,128 sent to the University of North Carolina – Wilmington.

Transcripts can be sent electronically to other colleges, mailed out, or picked up by the student the next day. Transcripts can be requested and picked up at both the Main Campus and the North Campus. The cost of an official CFCC transcript is now $5.00 each, up from $2.00 in July 2012. (CFCC does not fax or email transcripts.)

A transcript can be requested on the CFCC website when it is going directly to another college. Otherwise, a letter or form signed by the student is required, along with the $5.00 fee. Occasionally a transcript is sent by Fed Ex for overnight delivery, when it is an urgent matter. That requires an additional $10 fee.
