Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College is pleased to announce that Gerald Waller has been named Vocational Department Chair.
Mr. Waller worked for twenty years in Wilmington’s film industry. Since that time, he has been an electrical contractor, and most recently, an instructor in the electronics program at James Sprunt Community College.
Waller has also traveled extensively, and is very interested in globalization and green technology.
“I am very happy to join the CFCC family,” said Waller. “I began my education in the GNJ Electrical Apprenticeship program at Cape Fear Tech in the late 1970′s. That foundation has provided countless opportunities for me. I look forward to serving our institution, students and community, and to helping people gain the knowledge and credentials that will help them be successful.”
Dr. Ted D. Spring, President of Cape Fear Community College said he is glad to have Waller on board. ”Gerald’s wealth of experience will certainly benefit CFCC’s students and our organization as a whole. I look forward to working with him.”
Waller’s first day on the job was June 3.
CFCC Vocational programs include Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technology, Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology, Automotive Systems Technology, Carpentry, Construction Management Technology, Electrical / Electronics Technology, Industrial Systems Technology, Landscape Gardening, Marine & Diesel Mechanics, Plumbing, Sustainability Technologies, Truck Driver Training, and Welding Technology.
