Students in the cosmetology program at Cape Fear Community College are using their talents with hair styling to help local cancer patients.
On Oct. 7, the students donated 12 hand-woven wigs to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. The students made an assortment of hand-woven wigs as part of a class project.
The wigs were donated to the local American Cancer Society to be given to patients who have experienced hair loss typically associated with chemotherapy.
Instructors say that the students wanted to use their skills to support cancer patients in observance of breast cancer awareness month in October.
