Business, computer technology and health care top the list of most popular job training programs at CFCC
Cape Fear Community College is pleased to announce its most popular job training programs for the 2013 fall semester.
In a survey of all 54 of CFCC’s job training programs, the top three results show a trend toward business, computer technology, and health care administration.
According to Dr. Amanda Lee, CFCC’s vice president for instructional services, student enrollment typically reflects the job demands in the local area.
Dr. Lee added that programs like culinary arts, marine technology, and film and video technology are popular here in our area because those industries are stronger in our area that in other regions of the state.
“Our goal is to develop and offer educational programs that will strike a balance between the needs of local employers and student interest,” Lee said.
Lee added that the ongoing participation from members of the business community is essential to the success of the job training offered by the college. Each of the college’s technical program is guided by an advisory committee made up of industry professionals working in the field. The advisory committees help advise the college on the latest trends and technologies in the field to keep programs up to date to help students qualify for jobs after they graduate.
This fall, 9,221 students are enrolled in credit courses at CFCC.
