CFCC to host 2nd Annual Service Learning Fair on Wednesday, January 15
Wilmington, NC – CFCC will host its 2nd Annual Service Learning Fair on Wednesday, January 15 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Windell Daniels Hall on the 5th Floor of the Union Station building in downtown Wilmington.
The theme of this year’s fair is I Have a Name, since January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. During the past year, the Not4$ale group at CFCC has held several events to bring awareness to the issue of human trafficking in the Wilmington area. Many of the organizations attending Wednesday’s event serve under-represented populations and are working to help change the cycle of hardship that can lead to child exploitation, domestic violence and modern day slavery.
This is an opportunity for students to learn more about organizations making an impact in the community and to sign up for volunteer opportunities that will enhance classroom experiences.
Organizations that will be in attendance are:
NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher
Cape Fear Volunteer Center
Interfaith Refugees Ministry
Domestic Violence Shelter
Good Shepherd Center
Full Belly Project
Lower Cape Fear Hospice
Coastal Therapeutic Riding Center
Amigos Internacional / Centro Latino
First Fruit Ministries
Habitat for Humanity
Fit for Fun
Wilmington Early College HS
Not4$ale Project at CFCC
This event is free and open to the public.
