Modern-Day Slavery Down on the NC Farm: Not4$ale Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative – Friday, March 28
Not4$ale, the Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative at CFCC, will present “Modern-Day Slavery Down on the NC Farm,” the fourth event in the 2013-14 series, on Friday, March 28 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m in the Union Station Auditorium (U-170). The event will feature a free film screening of Harvest of Dignity. The film, which offers an update to a 1960 television broadcast focused on exploitation of migrant workers, will be followed by discussion with special guests Caitlin Ryland of Legal Aid of North Carolina-Farmworker Unit; Anna Jensen of Toxic Free North Carolina; and a bi-lingual farmworker who will share her story first-hand. Fair Trade goods and information will also be available at the event, made possible by Eastern NC Stop Human Trafficking Now. This event is free and open to the community. For more information, contact Kate Santhuff, educational partnerships liaison at CFCC, at 362-7594.
