Cape Fear Community College will host a special reception to celebrate a gift from local artist Stephen Harlan and Martha Harlan this Thursday evening, April 3, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m on Union Station’s 5th floor.  This is the first in a series of events to celebrate Community College Month at CFCC.
Local artist Stephen Harlan recently donated a collection of his work for Union Station’s 5th floor lobby and corridors.  This is the first donation of its kind at Cape Fear Community College.
Mr. Harlan will be signing copies of his book, Along the Water’s Edge, which will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting art and nursing scholarships for CFCC students.
CFCC’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Margaret Robison, says this gift will be a wonderful addition to the new Union Station building.  “This donation is such a special gift for the college and Union Station will be a fantastic place for this work to be showcased.  Cape Fear Community College students and staff and the guests visiting Union Station’s conference facilities will enjoy these paintings for years to come.”
