Cape Fear Community College will host a free lecture from local author C.J. Brown, who recently published her first book, “A Metamorphosis of the Soul”.
The program will be held on Tuesday, April 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the Health Sciences Building room L-107 located at 415 N. Second St.
Brown will speak about her life, career and the inspiration behind her book, which deals with simple but unique life experiences that transformed her soul and helped her adjust to life’s changes. Brown will lead the audience in a discussion to reflect on significant events from their lives and help them consider new options available after retirement or other phases of life.
This presentation is part of CFCC’s new Plus50 Encore Completion Program, which focuses on offering courses and programs targeted toward older adults who may be transitioning from one phase of life to another.
CFCC is among 38 community colleges from across the country to have been chosen to join the Plus50 program. Nationwide, the program is working to prepare 10,000 baby boomers over the next two years for new jobs in health care, education and social services.
