Nurse Aide Refresher Course – Mar. 4

This course is for Nurse Aide’s whose registrations have expired or who are from out of state. Classroom and lab hours will prepare you to retake the state examination. Registration is March 1, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Bring with you to registration: Money order for $68.00; Photocopy of drivers license & Social Security card; and Copy of expired nurse aide registration. OSHA Construction Safety, 30 hours – Mar. 5

This 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training Program is intended to provide a variety of safety training to workers with some safety responsibility at their place of employment. It provides advanced training that emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention as well as the OSHA standards. This course takes an in depth look at the OSHA 1926 Code of Federal Regulations. Upon completion the worker should be able to identify project hazards and use the OSHA 1926 Code of Federal Regulations to form a means of abatement. Class is March 5, 6, 12 & 13 , 2010, Fridays and Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., on the downtown campus, room F-110. Cost $123. Electrical Contractor’s License Renewal Course-One and Two Family Dwellings – Feb. 20

The purpose of this 8 hour class is to specifically address the NEC as it relates to electrical installations in one and two family dwellings. Instructor: Darryl Hinson. This course when offered during the fiscal year July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010, meets the requirements of the NC State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors for 8 contact hours of continuing education credit. This course is not sponsored by the Board. Class is Saturday, February 20, 2010, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., on the downtown campus, room S-603. Cost $68. This course is designed to introduce 2007 Microsoft Excel to the beginner or former user of 2003 MS Excel. Students will learn the fundamentals of Excel. Upon successful completion of this course, students will demonstrate the ability to edit, view, and print worksheets, work with formulas and functions, format cells and Excel charting techniques. Class is February 23-March 18, 2010, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-9:00 p.m., on the downtown campus, room T-100. Cost $73; seniors 65 or older $8. Payment is due on the first night of class.
