New Design

Starting January 5th, 2015 Web Services will begin to deploy a brand-new design and look for The new design will appear first on the homepage with the new theme rolling out to other sites in the network throughout January and February. will continue to use WordPress as a Content Management System.

Site Admins will continue to work with their web pages just as they do now.

For the majority of websites in the network this change will be cosmetic and will only update the look and feel of the webpages. In some cases additional work may be needed to ensure content is formatted properly so there is no disruption of services.

Implementing the new look and feel will take place over a period of several weeks during the spring semester.

  • There are over 90 live websites in the network and over 2300 pages so the new design will be rolled out in phases.
  • Each website will require a theme update, configuration, and evaluation for quality.
  • Stakeholders will be informed of the impending change, and consulted on improving available content.
  • There should be little to no down time for each site.
  • As sites come online, web services will engage with stakeholders to do focus group testing and revise based on feedback.

Departmental and Academic websites will be updated in March – through the rest of the semester.

Recent Changes to

Last week the web team had to migrate many of the web based services we self-host to our newest server. The old server that the services were being hosted on has reached end of life.

As we moved the services from the old server to the new server it became clear that we needed to resolve the domain name and rename the server from “” to just “”

Through out the migration from the old static HTML website to the new WordPress site the goal has been to restore the “” domain as the primary domain of our public facing website.

On Friday, May 23rd, the web team performed a “domain swap” and part of that process included the batch revising of all URLS and links to remove “www2” is now our primary domain. All links and navigation on the site have been updated accordingly.

Major WordPress Core Update. (Now it looks different!)

CFCC Web Team has applied an update to the WordPress CMS for You may notice a significant change in the way your dashboard appears.
