FIRE

EVACUATE

  • Pull fire alarm
  • Call 911
  • Evacuate the building and CLOSE DOORS
  • Assist disabled or injured people
  • Use stairs – Do not use elevators

ACTIVE SHOOTER

RUN – HIDE – FIGHT

  • RUN away from the threat
  • Call 911 or 362-7777 and warn others
  • If evacuation is not possible, HIDE in a concealed place, and silence cell phone
  • As a last resort, FIGHT to overpower the shooter and get away

MEDICAL EMERGENCY

STAY CLEAR

  • Call 911
  • Look for medical bracelet
  • If trained, administer first aid CPR/AED
  • Stay with the victim until help arrives
  • Do not move victim unless there is an immediate threat to safety

  • If you see a person behaving strangely, report it to Campus Police at 362-7777
  • If you see something suspicious, call Campus Police at 362-7777 or 911

LOCK DOWN

SIT TIGHT

  • Remain in classroom or go to nearest classroom and lock the door
  • Close blinds to reduce visibility
  • Silence cell phones and electronic devices
  • Stay in place until police declare the ALL CLEAR

SEVERE WEATHER

STAY CONNECTED AND INFORMED

  • Check your campus email, register for CFCC text alerts, and follow CFCC on Facebook
  • Know the difference between a WATCH and a WARNING
  • WATCHES: Conditions are favorable or expected but not occurring or imminent
  • WARNINGS: Conditions are occurring or imminent

BOMB THREAT

REMAIN CALM AND NOTE DETAILS

  • Remain calm during and after phone call
  • Note as much detail from caller as possible
  • Call 911 or Campus Police at 362-7777

UTILITY FAILURE

  • Call Maintenance Dept. at 362-7079 to report issues with electricity, lighting, water, HVAC or suspected gas leak
  • Be prepared to provide failure type and location
  • Check email or text alerts for any building evacuations or classroom changes due to utility or mechanical problems
