Cooperative Innovative High Schools

A cooperative innovative high school, or early college, is a small public high school located on a college campus that offers incoming ninth graders the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an associate's degree within four to five years.

Cape Fear Community College hosts Pender Early College and Wilmington Early College, public high schools that strive to recruit students who are looking for a learning experience that is different from the traditional high school. Students must apply for the early college during their eighth grade year.

Application Process:

To apply for admission to the early college, rising eighth graders and their families should contact their middle school counselors.
