Basic Computers - $120

(Fee waived for the underemployed or unemployed)

This course is designed to assist individuals in updating or creating documents needed for their employment search and introduce them to software like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The class sessions provide an awareness of the impact of information technology in the workplace.  Topics will include resumes writing, on-line applications and internet job searching techniques. These courses are offered as day or night classes.

Rising to Success - $175

(Fee waived for the underemployed or unemployed)

Are you unemployed, underemployed or looking for a career change?  If so, Rising to Success is for you!  This course is designed to assist individuals in resume writing, interviewing skills and life skills, such as time management and team building.  The class sessions will also provide computer skills as students develop Resumes & cover letters.

Finding Your Path: A Career Exploration Workshop - $65

This 4- hour one-day course is designed for students needing assistance in determining th required steps to make their goals a reality.  Class will include an interest inventory, career exploration, programs available within the college, steps to registering for college, financial aid overview, and goal setting.

Job Seekers/Career Advancement Lab or the Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) - $175

(Fee waived for the underemployed or unemployed.) 

The cost for the 3 CRC exams at the end of the course are $10 each.

 

If you are looking for employment, want to change careers, or hoping to advance in your current position the Job Seekers and Career Advancement Lab is the place to be. Along with Applied Math, Locating Information, and Reading for Information course work, this new program offers students the opportunity to take online course in Career Exploration and Preparation, Financial Literacy, and Career Skills (e.g. Job Search, Communication, Work Ethics, Workplace Effectiveness, Business Etiquette). The program is flexible--- attend when you can, complete training modules in the Lab or online form home. Our instructors will be in the lab to offer additional guidance and to present special lectures on all aspects of job hunting. If you don’t have the time or money for expensive career workshops, this is for you. It’s a powerful way to build self esteem and provide real credentials to potential employers.
