CFCC Hosts Wilmington Arts Summit

April 7th, 2016 by admin

Cape Fear Community College’s Humanities and Fine Arts Department, in partnership with the Arts Council of Wilmington/New Hanover County, will present the inaugural Wilmington Arts Summit, April 15-16, 2016. The event will feature more than 30 expert-led workshops on professional development and community building for arts and arts organizations. The event is open to the public and is free of charge.

The summit will open with a networking reception on April 15 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at CFCC’s Wilma W. Daniels Gallery (200 Hanover Street). Concurrent breakout sessions and panel discussions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the academic wing of CFCC’s Humanities and Fine Arts Center on April 16. Presenters will discuss marketing, fundraising strategies, and resources for artists, as well as Wilmington’s arts community and arts education in New Hanover County.

“This event is the perfect opportunity for our arts community to band together in an effort to learn from one another, to strengthen the bonds that already exists, and to create new ones. There is a lot of talent and professional expertise in the Port City, and we’d like to see what happens when we bring it all under one roof,” said Brandon Guthrie, Chairman of CFCC’s Humanities and Fine Arts Department.

Space is limited and registration is required (artscouncilofwilmington.org). For more information on CFCC’s Humanities and Fine Arts Department, visit http://cfcc.edu/hfa/.
