CFCC 9/11 Memorial

Cape Fear Community College invites the public to attend a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m. to honor the victims, first-responders and survivors of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The ceremony will be held at the college’s 9/11 Memorial at the CFCC Safety Training Center, located at the north campus in Castle Hayne. Visitors can enter the campus at 4500 Blue Clay Rd.

The event will feature remarks by CFCC President Dr.  Amanda Lee, a silent procession by students in the college’s First Responders Academy and a plaque dedication, which explains the significance of the student-made memorial completed in 2011. The National Anthem will be performed by CFCC student Anna Emery along with student-led poetry readings, lowering of the flag by the CFCC Fire Academy and a bagpipe rendition of “Amazing Grace” by Major Andy Simpson.
