Joan Keller Scholarship:
The Alpha Omega Carolinas Region Alumni Association has announced that they will be awarding one Joan Keller Scholarship in the amount of $500.00 this year. The purpose of the Joan Keller Scholarship initiative is to provide active Phi Theta Kappa scholars who have demonstrated servant leadership on campus and/or in the community with financial resources to help defray educational expenses for the Academic Year 2013 - 2014 while enrolled in a two-year institution. The applications are due in the Alumni Advisors (Beth Carraway) office no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2013. You can access the application from the Carolinas Region website at www.carolinasregion.org by selecting the Forms & Publications page link.
| Dear Dr. Clarke, We are delighted to inform you that Mills College has increased its renewable Dean's Scholarship for transfer students to $15,000. In addition, Mills offers a $5,000 scholarship to qualified members of Phi Theta Kappa. Mills is an independent liberal arts and sciences college for undergraduate women, with graduate programs for women and men. With a 10:1 student-faculty ratio, Mills is characterized by small classes taught by an outstanding faculty. The faculty is dedicated to developing the intellectual, creative, and leadership potential of students in an environment attentive to issues affecting women. As a Phi Theta Kappa alumnus I have dedicated my time and efforts to reaching more Phi Theta Kappa students and providing them access to what I consider are the best scholarship offers in the nation. Texas A&M University-Commerce has been an institution of choice for Phi Theta Kappa transfer students for almost a decade.

Any out-of-state (non-resident) student who receives one of our academically competitive scholarships, valued at no less than $1000 per academic year, will receive an out-of-state tuition waiver. That’s right! Student’s receiving our scholarships may qualify for in-state tuition.

STARTING THE TRANSFER PROCESS
Our university is committed to making the transfer process as smooth as possible. To meet automatic admission requirements as a transfer student, you must have at least 21 transferable hours (excluding developmental coursework) and a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher on all transferable coursework.
Below you may find information relevant to completing admission to our university and a few frequently asked questions:
How do I submit an application to Texas A&M University-Commerce?
Step 1: Apply for admission by visiting www.ApplyTexas.org
· Make sure to select Texas A&M University-Commerce as your school of choice.
· When you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
· Once your application is processed, a campus wide identification (CWID) will be generated for your use which will allow you to check the status of our application on the myLEO portal accessible through the Texas A&M University-Commerce website.
Step 2: Submit required documents.
· In order to have your application for admission processed, you must submit an official (sealed copy) of your transcripts from each institution you currently attend or have previously attended.
· Transcripts may be mailed to:

For faster delivery, you may check to see if your previous/current academic institution(s) can submit an electronic version of your transcript to the Admissions Office.
Step 3: If admitted, an acceptance letter will be sent to your permanent mailing address. You can also Check Your Admission Status online through myLeo using your CWID.
If you are not admissible, you do have the opportunity to appeal the decision. Details can be found in your decision letter.
Step 4: If you have not completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA), please do so by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our school code is 003565. For more information about the financial aid process, please send an email to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
