Psycological Services Bureau, Inc logo What Are PSB Tests?

The Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) has been publishing standardized tests since 1959. Testing Services at CFCC administers three (3) different tests for various Health Science programs of study: the Revised PSB-Nursing School Aptitude Examination (RN), the Revised PSB-Aptitude for Practical Nursing Examination, and the Revised PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude Examination.

Certain CFCC academic programs have additional entrance requirements. Students applying for admission to those selective admission programs must meet general college admission requirements as well as specific program requirements.

Several selective admission programs require that an applicant take the PSB Examination and the results are used to assist in making the most accurate and fair decision possible regarding admission of an applicant into a Health Science program of study at CFCC.

Practice opportunities for the PSB may be found at www.testprepreview.com and Study Guide Zone.

The Learning Lab provides online practice for the PSB as well as other resources.

The three different PSB examinations are a predictive of an individual's readiness and capability for successful completion of the educational program designed to prepare the qualified graduate in each of our Health Science occupations.

Each examination is comprised of five (5) separate tests that measure abilities, skills, knowledge and attitudes important for success in the respective program and career choice. Each test is timed.

Students must register (during the program application period) to take a PSB examination and should visit the Counseling Office in the Galehouse Building room A220 (Downtown) or in the McKeithan Center room NA100A (North Campus) for specific program requirements and to obtain a "pass" to take the PSB examination.  The cost for taking the examination is $25.00.
