2019 Annual Student Art Show

Show Dates: April 1st-May 3rd.

Reception and Awards presented: April 26th. 6-9pm

Feb. 20 thru March 20 : Open Submission Dates.

2019 Student Art Show Registration 

March 23rd : Juror notification. Juror will make her selection of works which will be displayed as part of the 2018 Student Art Show. Applicants will be notified by email which works have been selected and which

ones have not.

March 25 – 27: Drop off accepted works at the Wilma W Daniels Gallery 12-5 pm

April 1st –May 3rd : Show is open from 12-5 pm Monday –Friday

April 26th: Reception 6-9 p.m.

The Reception will be held in the Wilma W Daniels Gallery. Awards in each media category will be announced during the reception

May 6th & 7th: Art Work Pickup. All works displayed for the 2018 Student Art show to be picked up during the hours of 12-5 pm


Entry Rules & Requirements:

  • Each student may submit up to 4 pieces to be considered for display
  • Exterior measurements of single 2 dimensional entries must not exceed 288 inches in overall circumference.
  • A series of works may be submitted as a single entry but may not exceed 32 sqft.
  • Works intended for wall display must be framed and wired for hanging. Exception will be made for work that is not framed as part of its design. These pieces must be submitted with display hardware along with detailed instructions for the method of its hanging.
  • Matted unframed work will not be accepted
  • Wet or damaged works will not be accepted
  • Sculptures and other three-dimensional works must be free standing and stable.
  • Large three-dimensional works may not exceed 84 inches in height and must portable by 2 people.
  • Works may not be hung from the ceiling

Eligibility:

• All students enrolled, at any time, from the Spring Semester of 2018 through the Spring Semester of 2019 are eligible for entry into the show.

• All submitted works must have been completed within the past 2 years.

• It is not required that submitted artwork be created as part of a class assignment.

• Works that have been previously displayed as part of the CFCC Annual Student Art Show are ineligible for submission.

• Works must be original. Mass produced or photocopies of originals are ineligible, with the exception of works in which copied or appropriated images are central to its design.

Awards for first, second and third place will be given in the following categories along with one award for best in show:

• Drawing

• Painting

• Printmaking

• Photography

• Ceramics

• Metals and Jewelry

• Sculpture

• Design and Illustration

• Digital Media

• Mixed Media

  • 2019 Student Art Show Registration 

  • Fill out contact information
  • Fill out information for each submission of artwork. You may submit up to 4 works.
  • For each artwork upload images to the  “Post Image” Link. You may submit two images per artwork. Click on the “Browse” button to upload images from your computer. Image files must be in the JPG format  between 1 and 2 megs and must be named in the following fashion:  your last name, category, entry number ( 1, 2, 3 or 4). For multiple images of a single artwork follow the number with “a” or “b” See example below.

  • Click on the “Submit” button on the bottom of the page.
  • Submission may take several minutes depending on your internet access speed. Do not click the button multiple times or log off before upload is complete. You will receive a confirmation prompt when your submission has been successfully uploaded.
  • All submissions are due by March 20 2019
