Interaction Outline
An Interaction Outline can be used to show the nature of an interaction
between persons or groups. A couple sites I looked at suggested analyzing
the interaction between Europeans settlers who invaded the Americas and American
Indians who were forced off their lands. This might be useful in studying
the contact and conflict between the Greeks and the Persians prior to the
Persian Wars. An American history class might examine the events in the port
cities of the United States when large numbers of immigrants from Ireland
arrived.
Begin by asking:
Who are the people or groups
involved?
What were their goals?
What sort of problem developed?
Did they conflict or cooperate?
Why did they cooperate . . . or why did they come into conflict?
What was the outcome for each person or group?
