Your objective in this assignment is
to analyze the data in the table below. Carry out all appropriate statistical
tests and describe their outcomes and meanings. The work you will turn
in will be in two parts. The first part will be a series of sentences describing
the outcomes of statistical tests. You can think of these as sentences
that could be in the "Results" section of a lab report. This part of the
assignment, as well as the names of the students in your group, must be
written on a typewriter or with a word processor in order to be graded.
Number the sentences and include the T value at the end of the sentence.
The second part of the paper will show your computations from doing each
statistical test. These will be numbered to link them to the corresponding
sentence in the first part. It is not necessary to type out this part of
the assignment.
Table 1. Numbers of roadkills from
four different species seen during the months of February and August, 2008.
Roadkills were monitored at 12 different sites in Virginia and North Carolina.
Each site consisted of 40 miles of suburban and rural roads.
