For students who care about the way the world works, the field of ECONOMICS, notwithstanding its rapid pace changes, is certainly one of the most relevant, interesting, challenging and rewarding subject matter. A famous British economist, John Maynard Keynes, who propelled what was later to be known as Keynesian Macroeconomics, perhaps stated it best in his writings on Alfred Marshall, a leading figure in Microeconomic Theory at the turn of the twentieth century. In Essays in Biography,* Keynes points out this "rare combination of gifts" to succeed in such discipline. In a sense, it is exactly the sheer diversity of approaches to a wide-range and complex economic issues that provides a framework to better understand the difficulties to determine and find all analysis and prescriptions to be definitive.
