INSTRUCTIONS: ENTER numbers into Cells B4, B5, C4, C5, D4, and D5 ONLY. This Excel program will graph two quadratic functions in the window size shown. The line y = x2 is stationary to be used as a reference.The graphs f(x) and g(x) will change as the a, h, and k values (Cells B4, C4, and D4 for f(x) and Cells B5, C5, and D5 for g(x)) change.

SHAPE: Enter an a-value (Cells B4 & B5) to change the shape of f(x) and g(x). When a-value is close to zero, the graph is close to horizontal.

HORIZONTAL SHIFT: Enter the h-value in Cells C4 & C5 to slide the graphs of f(x) and g(x) to the left or to the right.

VERTICAL SHIFT: Enter the k-value in Cells D4 & D5 to move the graphs of f(x) and g(x) up or down.
