INSTRUCTIONS: ENTER numbers into Cells B3, C3, D3, and E3 ONLY. This Excel program will graph one exponential function f(x) and its inverse, the logarithm function, in the window size shown.
The line y = x is stationary to be used as a reference . The graphs f(x) and g(x) will change as the a, h, and k values (Cells B3, C3, D3, and E3 for f(x)) change.

SHAPE: Enter an a-value (Cell B3) to change the shape of f(x). The graph of g(x) automatically changes and f(x) changes. When the a-value is close to zero, the graph is close to horizontal.

HORIZONTAL SHIFT: Enter the h-value in Cell D3 to slide the graphs of f(x) and g(x) to the left or to the right.

VERTICAL SHIFT: Enter the k-value in Cell E3 to move the graphs of f(x) and g(x) up or down.
