Cape Fear Community College

Cape Fear Community College Foundation, Inc.

We are Proud of Our Students!

They come to Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) and defy the odds. Many of them are older and have already been in the workforce; they come determined to better themselves. Some are single parents, who want to build strong and healthy families: they come determined to succeed. Others come straight out of high school. What they all bring in common is their commitment to be all they can be, and they are worthy of our support.

Once they graduate, they become an important and integral part of our community and our neighborhoods. You're likely to find a CFCC student working in nearly every office and shop in the region. They are a key part of our economic vitality because they usually stay and work here when they graduate. In a recent study a remarkable 97 percent of employers expressed complete satisfaction with the CFCC graduates they hire.

Cape Fear Community College is one of the oldest and largest schools in the North Carolina community college system. Approximately 27,000 students take courses here each year. Studies show that for each dollar spent on educating CFCC students, more than $2.36 is returned to the local community. This means that gifts to the college actually grow in the marketplace. Additionally, the college boosts the economy of New Hanover and Pender counties by generating more than $435 million annually in business sales and $192 million in labor income.

Purpose of the CFCC Foundation

The Cape Fear Community College Foundation exists solely to support the students, teachers, programs and mission of the College. We secure and manage gifts, including cash contributions, deferred gifts, securities, donated services, and equipment and supplies for educational purposes. Most of the funds we raise are earmarked for our students in the form of scholarships to directly help them with their education.

Our goals are to:

Our success has a lot to do with the leaders and citizens of our communities who step forward, get to know our students, and invariably decide to help many of them. Some of our supporters are themselves former CFCC students. They aid today's students knowing their role in helping to make the Cape Fear region strong and prosperous. Gifts to support our students and the college grow in the marketplace and enable our donors to get the most out of their philanthropic dollar.

CFCC Foundation Board of Directors 2008-2009

The Foundation board works in the community to help people to fully understand the mission of the college and the goals of our students. Foundation members spread the word that helping students get an education at CFCC also strengthens our community economically and shapes the quality of life we all experience. Board members also show their commitment by their leadership: They are generous donors to the college.
