CFCC Student Art Show, March 24-May 4

  • The CFCC Student Art Show is now open.
  • Reception and Awards Ceremony for the annual Juried Student Art Exhibit is this Friday, March 27, 6-9 pm, in the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery.
  • The Gallery is located in on the downtown Wilmington campus at Third and Hanover Streets, on the sidewalk level of the parking garage, facing the new Humanities and Fine Arts building.

Yuna Shin will deliver a paper at the Southeastern Women’s Studies Association Conference

Yuna Shin, German Instructor in the Humanities and Fine Arts program, will deliver the following paper:

Title: “Why Are There “Women in Refrigerators” and What Do They Have To Do With Your Superheroes? The Trafficking of Dead Female Bodies in the World of Comic Books”

Where: Southeastern Women’s Studies Association Conference, Florida Atlantic University, March 26-29.

Co-presenter: CFCC student Christine Howard, who also works as a comic book writer.

Dr. Philip Jacobs will deliver a paper at the World History Association conference

Dr. Philip Jacobs has been notified that his paper “The Transformative Power of Medieval and Renaissance Art in the Understanding of the Role of Joseph in the Holy Family” has been accepted for the World  History Association 2015 conference in Savannah, GA.  The conference will meet from June 30 – July 2.
