Jessica Gaffney, Drama Instructor, Nominated for Best Costume Design

Jessica Gaffney, a drama instructor in the Humanities and Fine Arts Department at CFCC, has been nominated by the Star News for Best Costume Design in the Dram Tree Shakespeare production of Macbeth.

Dr. Jennifer Muehrcke plays with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra

About-Us-Pic

Dr. Jennifer Muehrcke, a CFCC music instructor in the Humanities and Fine Arts Department, has been playing with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra (WSO) since 2008.  In 2014, she auditioned for and won an Associate Principal position with the orchestra.

Dr. Muehrcke will be playing oboe with the symphony in Kenan Auditorium this Spring and hopefully the symphony will move to the HFAC for the 2016-2017 Season.

The Ogden Baptist Church Music Scholarship

Award Amount: $500 for the semester awarded. (The committee reserves the right to award $250 to 2 students or $500 to 2 students if the funds are available.)

Requirements:

1. Complete a general scholarship application through Financial Aid. (Please note that there is an application specifically for scholarships. You will not appear on the eligibility list if you only complete the general application.)

2. Applicant must be enrolled as an Associate of Fine Arts in Music/ Music Education Major for Spring 2016.

3. Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

4. Applicant must audition with 2 Contrasting Pieces upon Invitation.

Deadline for all submissions: Friday, December 4 th by 5pm. Applicants notified of Audition Invitation: December 4 th-7th .
Applicants must confirm Audition Invitation: Tuesday, December 8 th by 5pm.
Auditions: Friday, December 11th, from 12-2pm, U-170. (Applicants will receive a 10 minute time slot during the audition date listed.)

The opening reception for the CFCC Student Art Show at Flytrap Brewing is Thursday, Nov. 12 from 6-9 pm.  Flytrap Brewing is located at 319 Walnut Street in Wilmington, NC.

CFCC Filmmaker Productions in Cucalorus Film Festival, Nov. 11-15

CFCC faculty and staff members were involved in the production of two films accepted into the Cucalorus Film Festival to be held November 11-15, 2015 in Wilmington, NC.
