“Local metalsmith Melissa Manley, who earned her Master of Fine Arts in metal design from East Carolina University in 2006, stumbled into the art of enameled jewelry serendipitously.

While completing her degree, Manley spent weeks meticulously soldering two intricately winding copper cups. Out of concern for heavy-metal exposure, Manley sought alternative means to preserve the usefulness of her work. An instructor suggested she enamel the pieces, and sparked a newfound passion.”

CFCC and UNCW Co-Sponsored an Acting Workshop/Lecture with Erica Arvold and Richard Warner, Sunday Sept. 10 from 4-6 pm in the UNCW Cultural Arts Building.

Erica Arvold is a nationally known casting director, based in Charlottesville, VA.  She has cast numerous TV, film, commercial, and industrial productions.  She also offers classes and workshops to help upcoming actors with the business.

Richard Warner is a Professor Emeritus of Acting at the University of Virginia and an accomplished actor with extensive experience in theater and film.

Jack Landry, CFCC Drama Instructor, and Ed Wagenseller, UNCW Acting and Directing Lecturer, hosted and participated in this event.


Benny Hill, CFCC Music Instructor, to Play Benefit Concert, Sept. 16
