CFCC’s Jack Landry in Three Television Shows that Filmed this Summer

Jack Landry, CFCC Drama Instructor, acted in three different television shows that filmed in summer 2019.  The episodes will air this fall and next year.
Mr. Landry was “Bill Dwyer” in the second episode of Bluff City Law, NBC’s new Jimmy Smits show.  The pilot airs Sept 23rd.  His episode is Sept. 30th.

He was the “Coast Guard Captain” in the 10th episode of Netflix’s new Outer Banks.  The pilot will air next year on Netflix.


He was “John,” the manager of an electronics store, in Mr. Mercedes on the Audience Network.  It will air sometime in late October  on the Audience network (Direct TV’s network).

Jessica Gaffney Served as Costume Designer for The Little Mermaid Jr. at Mill Mountain Theatre

Theatre Program Chair Jessica Gaffney served as costume designer for The Little Mermaid Jr.at the Mill Mountain Theatre in Roanoke, VA this summer, the show runs through August 11.

CFCC Drama Students to Perform in Lumina Festival at UNCW July 18 and 19

CFCC Drama students Abigail Hunter and Kaleb Bradley are performing in two Shakespeare plays this week as part of the Make Trouble Ensemble for the Lumina Festival of the arts at UNCW.
There is one more chance to see Timon of Athens July 18 at 7 pm and one more chance to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream July 19 at 7 pm. All performances are in the Cultural Arts building on UNCW’s campus.

Jessica Gaffney’s Costumes for “Man of Mode” at the American Shakespeare Center

CFCC Drama Student Participates in “Make Trouble” Acting Training at UNCW this Summer

Elias Anderson, a CFCC Drama Student, is attending the Make Trouble actors’ training program at UNCW with a scholarship from CFCC Drama.  This five-week training session culminates in the production of two plays by Shakespeare.  Elias will play Romeo in Romeo and Juliet.  Follow the link for more details.



Spring 2018

New Costume Studio

CFCC now has a new costume studio in the Humanities and Fine Arts Building (The Wilson Center).  This room, WA 3018, is dedicated to costuming and will be used as a classroom for the Drama costuming courses taught by Jessica Gaffney, Drama Instructor.

Acting Workshop!

CFCC and UNCW Co-Sponsored an Acting Workshop/Lecture with Erica Arvold and Richard Warner, Sunday Sept. 10 from 4-6 pm in the UNCW Cultural Arts Building.

Erica Arvold is a nationally known casting director, based in Charlottesville, VA.  She has cast numerous TV, film, commercial, and industrial productions.  She also offers classes and workshops to help upcoming actors with the business.

Richard Warner is a Professor Emeritus of Acting at the University of Virginia and an accomplished actor with extensive experience in theater and film.

Jack Landry, CFCC Drama Instructor, and Ed Wagenseller, UNCW Acting and Directing Lecturer, hosted and participated in this event.
