Course Description per North Carolina Combined Course Library

GER 111 Elementary German I

This course introduces the fundamental elements of the German language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Must be taken with GER 181.

GER 112 Elementary German II

This course is a continuation of GER 111 focusing on the fundamental elements of the German language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the progressive development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Must be taken with GER 182.

GER 181 Elementary German I Lab

This course, a co-requisite for GER 111, provides an added opportunity to enhance acquisition of the fundamental elements of the German language.

GER 182 Elementary German II Lab

This course, a co-requisite for GER 112, provides an added opportunity to enhance acquisition of the fundamental elements of the German language.

GER 211 Intermediate German I

This course provides a review and expansion of the essential skills of the German language. Emphasis is placed on the study of authentic and representative literary and cultural texts.

GER 212 German II

This course is a continuation of GER 211. Emphasis is placedon the continuing study of authentic and representative literary and cultural texts.
