Humanities and Film Studies

The Humanities courses in the Humanities and Fine Arts Department cover a diversity of topics from critical thinking to film studies to the Holocaust to the history of architecture.  These courses explore unique aspects of humanity and contemporary culture from a variety of literary, historical, cinematic, artistic, and humanistic perspectives.  The aim of these courses is for students to develop an understanding of their broader culture and its foundations.

Film studies courses at Cape Fear Community College are listed as Humanities courses (HUM 160: Introduction to Film and HUM 161: Advanced Film Studies).

Some Humanities courses can be used to satisfy Humanities/Fine Arts general education requirements for the A.A. and A.S. degrees, and all Humanities courses can be used as elective credit for such degrees.
